A bond, recognizance, dismissal, or time-served entry may support community release, subject to any other hold.

Justice Center Recent Release Report

The official Mahoning County Recent Releases report is the first online route for a recent adult jail event. When observed on July 31, 2026, it covered five calendar dates, including the current date and the prior four. It is not a separately filtered 24-hour or 72-hour archive. The public cards can show a name, inmate ID, date of birth, booking number, booking date, arresting agency, release date, and a booking image or placeholder.

The captured report below shows the type of short-window release view supplied by the sheriff. It helps a reader recognize the heading, release fields, and detail link.

The image supports the discovery step, not a final conclusion about destination. Save the booking number and release date before the card ages off the live window. Duplicate-looking cards can occur, so treat booking number plus release date as the episode key rather than counting every card as a different person or event.

The interface can retain wording about current inmates even when a release query is active. Read the report heading and each visible release date. No official minute-by-minute update promise was located in the sources reviewed as of July 31, 2026. A new movement may lag, and date-only data cannot establish an exact release time.

Note: The active roster is a negative cross-check, not proof of release, because transfers and search mismatches can also remove a name.

Confirm a Justice Center Release

A reliable Mahoning County Justice Center release check follows the particular booking instead of a name alone. Inmate IDs and booking numbers reduce false matches, especially when one person has more than one custody episode. 1. Open the official Recent Releases report and locate the correct name. Compare the inmate ID, booking number, booking date, and other displayed identifiers.
2. Record the release date and open the booking detail. Do not infer a release reason from the summary card or arresting agency.
3. Search the Mahoning eCourts portal and the court named in the booking. Read bond, dismissal, sentence, commitment, and later docket entries in order.
4. If the destination is still unclear, contact MCSO Records Division. Ask for the existing release or movement disposition, date and time, and receiving authority if public.
5. Trace any documented transfer in the receiving system. Use ODRC for an Ohio prison commitment, BOP or the federal docket for federal custody, and ICE ODLS for immigration detention.

A court order and physical movement can occur at different times. Bond authorizes release while a case remains pending. Dismissal resolves a charge but may coexist with another hold. Justice Center Release Record Fields

A durable request should identify the person and the exact Mahoning County Justice Center booking. Ask for records that already exist rather than asking the office to research or create a new certificate. Ohio Revised Code 149.43 governs public-record requests, subject to exclusions and redactions. Justice Center Release Property

The 2025 MCSO inmate handbook gives a practical rule for property at release. A person should verify all returned items before signing the receipt and leaving. Missing items should be reported to a deputy then. This is the point when the inventory and the property being handed back can be compared in the same place.

Transfer property follows a different path. The handbook states that pickup requires advance designation and photo identification. Property left behind or associated with a transfer has a 30-day claim period before it may be treated as abandoned and disposed of under the stated process. These details do not establish when a person will exit or which public door will be used. No official release hour, family waiting point, transport pass, or public exit policy was located in the reviewed material.

Justice Center Federal Transfer Releases

Mahoning's release report can list ICE or the U.S. Marshals Service as the arresting agency. That does not say the named agency received the person at release. Request the movement disposition from MCSO, then compare it with the legal custodian's own system. For ICE custody, use the Online Detainee Locator System. For a federal sentence, use the BOP locator. A federal pretrial detainee may require the federal docket, holding facility, or USMS prisoner-information route instead.

This distinction matters in Youngstown because Northeast Ohio Correctional Center can house contract populations for federal agencies. A departure from the Justice Center could be an agency-to-agency handoff nearby. It is not safe to infer freedom from geography, a closed county booking, or a current-roster absence. Record the source, identifier, displayed status, and check date at every stage.

Have the full recorded name, inmate ID, booking number, booking date, and displayed release date ready. Ask for the release disposition and receiving agency if those facts are public. If the response conflicts with a docket or receiving-custodian record, preserve both sources and ask the office responsible for the underlying movement to resolve the discrepancy.
